C3SR 2

Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia, a country filled with wonder, poverty, architecture, beautiful people and a very strong sense of the spiritual.

The people here are hungry for knowledge and as it says in the Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”.

We have met great, young men who love God and want to bring him to the people but they have had no teaching or leadership training to help them. They feel inadequate and are searching for someone to help. Praise God he has brought us to this place.

We are still getting the feel of the language and culture and feel that this will always be a learning area in our lives. We love the newness of each day and look forward to what God will do. James 4:15 – We ought to say “If the Lord wants us to, we will do this or that”. It is a great place to be when each day we say “What are you going to do today Lord”?

Our house is set up for a church come Training Center and we have made the bedrooms nice and comfortable for our future guests (and our present ones at the moment).

Praise God we have both been well and sickness is defeated in our bodies in the name of Jesus. Keep us in your prayers as we venture on this great journey and we welcome all prayer, financial and communicative support for the great things God has got planned for C3 Siem Reap.

our first week

Hi All

Well we have been here for 8 days now and set our house up to be a very comfortable place for us and whoever wants to stay.

It is winter here so the days hover around 30C in the day and 22C at night. Perfect!!!!!

We have been exploring the city restaurants and know the best places to eat and just chilling out with the locals trying to understand their very complex language (I don't think I am holding my mouth right when I speak or I am very funny cuz they laugh a lot when I speak).

Starting language lessons today so hopefully that will help.

Have been looking for work in the universities but as the term has already started they are not looking for teachers until next term, which is April. Pray for something for us in the interim.

Pastor Carolyn, Kelly and Lijah are here on Sunday. We are having a meeting with them and the locals that night. Pray those that have been invited will turn up.

Keep us in your prayers and thoughts and we would love to hear how you have been.

Lots of love
Mark and Marian
